Haas Photography Offers Tips For Guys Who Are Taking Their Senior Portraits

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 23, 2009 ) Are you a guy who is taking his senior photos? If so, then it probably ranks about four hundred on your list of things to do. Hey, we get it - guys don't get nearly as excited as girls do when it comes to taking their senior photos. However, it is important that you force yourself to get at least a little bit excited about your senior portraits. After all, your parents, grandparents, and relatives are probably stoked about getting copies. And of course, these will be the pictures that forever immortalize you in your senior yearbook.

Luckily, the folks at Haas Photography Photography in Beaver Dam, WI, are offering some important tips to remember for guys who are preparing to take their senior pictures. To help you get ready for your big day, here are some things to keep in mind.

No Shaggy Hair - "OK, so plenty of guys have longer, shaggy hair. And you may rock this look in your day-to-day life, but for your senior pictures, it's simply not going to cut it. (Pun intended!) Can't bring yourself to trim your treasured locks? Use gel or styling cream to at least get it out of your face. It may feel a little lame, but believe us when we say that your parents and relatives want to see your face in your senior pictures."

No T-Shits and Shorts - "Your daily uniform of a t-shirt and shorts simply will not do the trick when it comes to your senior portraits. Instead of looking like a slob, swallow your pride and don a suit or button-up shirt. We know that you're probably dreading having to get dressed up for graduation, but the satisfaction on your mother's face will make it all worthwhile."

Dealing With Acne - "Do you suffer from acne? If so, you may be dreading having to pose for your senior portraits. You have two options: Makeup, and/or photoshop. We know that you may not jump at the opportunity to put makeup on. However, we assure you that it is quite common for men to use concealer and foundation when they get in front of a camera - reporters, actors, and sports commentators do it all the time. Can't fathom using your sister's goofy beauty products? Then request retouching for your senior pictures. By using photoshop, the photography studio can erase all signs of blemishes or other irregularities."

You are sure to have amazing senior portraits if you follow these tips. A final word of advice from the folks at Haas? "Just remember to smile, and take any advice your mother gives you."
