The book fair, which runs from 2 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Central Time), is free and will feature authors, illustrators, and local chefs who have contributed to cookbooks featured at the book fair.
Amelia Painter will be signing copies of her books, “Discover Iowa: Cooking with Iowa Wines, Meats and other Iowa Products” and her best seller “Opening and Operating a Bed & Breakfast in the 21st Century.” Joining Painter, to sign their recipes found in the cookbook will be local innkeepers Mary Nichols and Donna Muilenburg.
“Discover Iowa: Cooking with Iowa Wines, Meats and other Iowa Products” takes readers on a culinary journey across every region in Iowa as innkeepers share their guest’s favorite recipes as well a number of heirloom recipes that have withstood time. Unique to the book are recipes from Iowa wineries, the Iowa Egg Council, the Iowa Beef Industry Council, the Iowa Pork Producers Association, and Make Mine Wine magazine.
Also found in the cookbook are easy to follow recipe notes with helpful cooking tips, fun stories, comments for using the recipe, and cooking tips from the innkeepers as well as from Iowa wineries, the Iowa Egg Council and the Bureau of Horticulture and Farmers Markets in Iowa.
Mrs. Painter describes the new cookbook as “an Iowa collectible filled with recipes from innkeepers in America’s Heartland cooking with fresh, simple, local ingredients to create tasty results.”
The other book Painter will have on hand is her best seller, an Expanded and Revised Second Edition of a must have guidebook to success in the Bed and Breakfast Industry.
